Persian/Farsi

Persian, or Farsi as it is called by those who speak it, is a language spoken in Iran, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, parts of Georgia, India and Pakistan. The language has developed a great deal in the last few centuries. A great many words have also been borrowed from geographically neighbouring languages; firstly from Armenian and Greek, but subsequently from Arabic and to some extent Turkish. In recent years, a large number of western words have been borrowed, primarily from English and French.

Prior to translation and interpretation

Before ordering a translation or interpreter, it is a good idea to know which country the translated material will be used in and which country the person to be interpreted comes from. This is particularly important for translations into languages which are spoken in many different countries, since the same language may be written differently and in some cases with different alphabets.
