ContextTM

Context TM, previously called Xtranslate, is a tool in the Trados family that is used for pre-translations.

The tool is used to pre-translate texts with the aid of previously translated, bi-lingual* documents. The tool checks each segment in the new document and looks for an identical segment from the previous translation.

The tool also takes into account other contextual issues such as formatting and tags, which means that you can be sure that it really is an identical segment and the right translation, which you cannot be when you 'pre-translate' using a translation memory. If both the translation and the context are correct, then the translation of that segment is placed in the new document.

* A bilingual document contains both the original text (in the source language) and the translated text (in the target language).
