EU languages

The European Union now has more than 20 official languages that are used in EU contexts.

Each country that becomes a member of the EU decides which language or languages they want to be official EU languages. The official EU languages as of 2006: Danish, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, Greek, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Czech, German and Hungarian.

Note! This is not the same as European languages.
