Flemish

Flemish is the name of the dialects of Dutch spoken in Belgian Flanders.

It is spoken by around 6 million people in Belgium, but is also spoken in France and the Netherlands. Formerly, Flemish and Hollandic (a form of Dutch) were considered separate languages, but are now considered to be dialects of Dutch. The biggest differences between Flemish and the Dutch spoken in the Netherlands is in the accent and vocabulary, which is more influenced by French than Dutch (as spoken in the Netherlands) is. The grammar is largely the same.
