(typeface)

A font is a complete set of characters, numbers and symbols with a specific appearance.

Examples of fonts are Times, Garamond and Helvetica.

Fonts are traditionally grouped according to certain features: German (no longer used), Roman (with serifs) and Grotesque (sans serif or without serifs). Each font can be used in different sizes and in different styles such as italic, bold, etc.
