Kurdish

Kurdish is an Indo-European language in the Iranian language group and is spoken by 20 to 30 million people.

It is spoken in Iran, Iraq, Syria, Turkey, Armenia and Lebanon, in the area known as Kurdistan, and is one of Iraq's official languages. Kurdish can be written in the Latin, Cyrillic and Arabic alphabets/scripts, depending on the region in which it is used. It has two main dialects: northern (Kurmanji) and southern (Sorani).
