The role of Software Developer centers around improvement and maintenance of the systems underpinning the Semantix language and localization services. As such you need to be comfortable with having a lot of system critical responsibility.
About the position
We are a distributed team, so you will be expected to be able to work independently and manage priorities. You will be working closely with the Manager and colleagues of your immediate team, but also be collaborating closely with the Technology group as a whole.
- Define, devise and implement diverse technical solutions.
- Develop applications and add-ons, mainly in our Project Management system (XTRF).
- Identify areas of improvement in our Project Management processes.
- Coding/programming (mainly back-end)
Our corporate language is English. However, a good command of either Swedish, Danish, Finnish, or Norwegian is beneficial.
We are primarily looking for candidates able to work from the following offices in which Semantix have Translation Operations: Gothenburg, Aarhus, Stockholm.
Would be an advantage
- Previous experience in working with, customizing, and configuring Project Management Systems would be a plus.
- Any previous experience in similar roles, or exposure to the Translation and Localization industry would be a plus.
Besides fulfilling the requirements mentioned above, we have identified some key-competencies that are important, both to become successful and for you to enjoy working in the position.
As Software Developer you will be working with system critical tasks, therefore it is important that you are quality conscious and take pride and ownership of your work. As the team is distributed and you will be working independently, you need to be self-driven. This is of course even more crucial if you are not located at the Gothenburg office (where the other Software Developer is located).
You will be expected to work proactively, looking at how we can improve the system. For example, if there are some common questions/issues we would expect that you not only solve them here and now but also look at what can be done to improve functionality in the long run. Therefore, a solutions oriented mind-set is vital to be successful in this position.
A core part of the position is that you possess a problem-solving analytical ability. In our view, a natural part of being able to develop our systems, by coding and programming, is seeing, and implementing an actual solution and considering both first and second order effects in the process. Yet again, it is important that you are able to analyze different issues and see possible solutions.
